Evann Frisque
Evann Frisque received her BFA in painting from the University of Windsor in 2004. At the same time, she joined a performing aerial acrobatic troop to continue with her lifetime passion of dance and acrobatics. For 3 years afterwards, she worked as a self employed artist, painting murals around the Toronto area where she grew up. In April 2009 she received her diploma in Fibre Arts at the Kootenay School of the Arts at Selkirk College in Nelson, British Columbia. Evann feels that as a craft person she has a moral obligation to create ethical items. For this reason, she uses only 100% natural fibres, as well as recycled and organic materials wherever possible. Above all she aims to please by creating quality items with an artistically creative flare.
Patrick McIvor - Dancing Scot Forge

My dream of becoming a Blacksmith began at the age of 8. It took almost 20 years before the dream became reality. My first 6 years of self directed study was in the development of moving metal with heat and hammer. In 2005 I traveled for 16 months in Europe studying with master blacksmiths to hone skills, learn new techniques and have direct exposure to art and techniques dating to before roman times. Out of those 16 months I studies for 13 of them with Prof. Alfred Habermann until his death in April 2008. While on my journey I built the Masters designs and am greatly influenced by the ideas, techniques and knowledge of the European blacksmith community, but to become new and fresh, I must have my own ideas come into reality. With all I have learned I intend to show Canada and Hopefully all of North America that there is more to Blacksmithing than just horse shoes.
